Travis - Sustainability Engineer, Buildings team

Joining the buildings team at a time when environmentally sustainable design was the latest and fastest growing area in the industry meant I had the chance to be at the forefront of the latest technologies, tools and systems.

In my first week, I was given my first project which required learning a new computational engineering program to submit a report on the predicted energy consumption of an aged care facility.

I enlisted the support of my team to learn how to use the program and within three weeks I had met my deadline and learned a new skill, with the added bonus of feeling like I was part of the team.

It was great to hit the ground running working on a diverse range of projects and learning new skills. The best part is this hasn’t stopped. I have worked around Australia, attended numerous training sessions, conferences and industry nights as well as internal development programs that are a great way to catch up with other graduates.

Another reason I love working here is something is always happening - services are expanding and new projects are developing. Throughout all this change, my team continues to offer support and guidance whenever I need it.
